The short version
- Confi has no accounts, no sign-up and no comments. You can read the site without telling us anything.
- Our web server keeps ordinary access logs for 14 days to run and protect the site.
- Google Analytics runs only if you accept it on the cookie banner. Until then, nothing is sent to Google.
- We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we are
This website, confi.app, is run by Confi (“we”, “us”). Confi publishes facts about homeowners’ associations and community associations from public records. Questions about this policy go through our contact page.
Information you give us
If you contact us or request a page for your HOA, we receive what you send, such as your name, email address, your message and details about your community. We use it only to reply to you and to handle your request, and we keep it only as long as we need it for that.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, our web server records standard request details: your IP address, the date and time, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and the browser and device information your browser sends. We use these logs to run the site, diagnose problems and block abuse, for example repeated failed sign-in attempts. Server logs are deleted automatically after 14 days, and an automatic block on an abusive IP address lasts one hour.
Google Analytics, only with your consent
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people find the site. It runs only if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Before you choose, and if you choose Decline, no analytics script loads, no request goes to Google and no analytics cookie is set. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a decline and do not show the banner.
If you accept, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load and record the pages you view, the page you came from, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and a random identifier stored in a cookie so a return visit is not counted twice. This data first goes to our own collection server at data.confi.app, which passes it on to Google without keeping a copy. Google Analytics does not store your IP address; it uses it only to estimate a general location.
Google LLC processes this data for us under the Google Privacy Policy (see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services). Google signals and advertising features are turned off, so nothing is linked to a Google account or used for ads. Detailed event data is kept for 2 months, visitor-level data for up to 14 months, and after that only aggregated reports remain.
Cookies and local storage
Visitors get no cookies unless they accept analytics. Your choice on the cookie banner is saved in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie. The Cookie Policy lists every cookie and what it does.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that run the site:
- DigitalOcean hosts our web server and our analytics collection server in the United States.
- Cloudflare provides DNS, which points the confi.app name to our server. It does not see the pages you visit.
- Google provides Google Analytics, and only if you accept it.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell or rent personal information.
Your choices
- Change your analytics choice at any time: cookie settings. Declining removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site.
- Ask us for a copy of, or to delete, anything you sent us through our contact page.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.
Children
Confi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
